A Cold War Brews in LA – Kobe Bryant vs. Mike D’Antoni

It’s official, Kobe Bryant is done playing for this season. While he is not done playing all together, it does seem however that Bryant is done playing for head coach Mike D’Antoni. It was reported by The Sporting News reported, that Bryant has “no interest” in playing for D’Antoni next season.

Furthermore, CBS Sports reported that D’Antoni has already been given the support of the team this season, with a single month remaining. In 2012 D’Antoni signed a $12 million, three year contract  — and he signed a three-year, $12 million deal in 2012. Relieving D’Antoni of his duties seems unlikely considering the Lakers still paying off Mike Brown’s contract after firing him last season. If the Lakers did, they’d pay three coaches at once.

But taking a look at Bryant’s recent $48 million, two year contract he was just given by the Lakers just gave him, he may just get his way. We shall see
