Brewers’ Unofficial Mascot, Hank, Wins Dog of the Year Award

Yesterday (Jan. 15) marked the first-ever World Dog Awards, and the ceremony did not disappoint.

The top prize: Dog of the Year. And everyone was on all fours with anticipation to see who was going to take home the Golden Hydrant.

Last spring, what is thought to be a part-Bichon Frise mixed-breed of about two or three years of age was wandering around the Milwaukee Brewers’ training facility in Arizona.

After an owner could not be found, the Brewers adopted the dog and named him Hank after the baseball legend Hank Aaron.

Hank has become the Brewers’ unofficial mascot and appears at all of their home games.
