The bruised and battered Cleveland Cavaliers yet again clawed their way to a victory, this time to win Game 3 and take a 2-1 series lead. LeBron James once again did it all through scoring, 40 points and falling two assists short of another triple-double, but Matthew Dellavedova stole the show. The 6’4” Australian point guard, who makes less than anyone in this series and drives a Mazda, played the game of his life last night, scoring 20 points and seemingly being everywhere with his tenacity and effort and even needed to be hospitalized with cramps after the game.

Like Games 1 and 2, the Cavs stopped the Warriors dead in their tracks holding them to 37 points in the first half, their lowest total of the year. Stephen Curry once again struggled but managed to come alive in the second half to have 27 points in the game leading the team, but no other Warrior scored more than 15 points.

The series has went to a 180 degree flip since the weekend, when everyone had written the Cavs off after the news of Kyrie Irving’s broken knee cap. However, the Warriors seem to be lost as they have now been kept below 100 points in regulation for three straight games and look out of sorts on offense. Perhaps Stephen Curry will break out of his slump after his big second half, but even so, the rest of the offense was an absolute mess last night. Even if Curry is able to shoot 50% from three for the rest of the series, the Warriors have major issues to resolve.

The NBA also came out yesterday and admitted mistakes were made by referees in Game 2. There were a few calls as the end of the game that announcers and fans alike took issue with and the NBA came out with the corrections.

Of course the internet has come out with some great ways to commemorate Matt Dellavedova.
