Chris Mullin will be returning to his alma mater as the head coach of the men’s basketball team at St. John’s University.
Reports say that Mullin’s contract is for 6 years, $2 million annually.
Mullin, 51, has zero coaching experience but is an NBA Hall of Famer and former NBA general manager and executive.
The former NBA player of 16 years will replace Steve Lavin, who was recently let go after coaching five seasons and having a 92-72 record. St. John’s had two NCAA tournament appearances in those five seasons.
