This Guy is the Real MVP
Meet Kawhi Leonard – The $94 Million Man
The 24-year-old All-Star and NBA Finals MVP has quickly blossomed into a legitimate superstar because of his stellar play. While he isn’t a cerebral shooter like Stephen Curry, a brute force like LeBron James, or a nimble scorer like Kevin Durant, Leonard has proven to be an indomitable player on both sides of the ball. His play in the 2014 NBA Finals helped his San Antonio Spurs clinch the title against LeBron James and the Miami Heat. Because of that, the Spurs fell in love with Kawhi and awarded him $94 million last season.
His Humbleness is Unreal
Neither brash nor boisterous on the court, Kawhi is relatively quiet. In fact, that same attitude is carried off the court, as well. In an interview recently released by Sports Illustrated, it was revealed that despite Kawhi now being a rich man, he prefers his simple lifestyle. In fact, he doesn’t like spending money at all.
He Drives a 97 Tahoe And Saves Coupons?!
According to SI, Kawhi still drives his 97 Tahoe and is a big fan of coupons. “[Leonard] is happy to sponsor Wingstop, which sends him coupons for free wings, so he can feed his Mango Habanero addiction. This winter, after his $94 million contract kicked in, he panicked when he lost his coupons. Wingstop generously replenished his supply.” And his reasoning for driving his Tahoe you ask? “I don’t like to bring attention to myself. I don’t like to make a scene,” he told SI. Talk about a stand up guy. We definitely are Team Kawhi!
This guy is arguably the most humble athlete ever…
