David Leggio knows how to think on his feet–or his skates, we should say.
The professional hockey player, who’s currently playing in the minors for the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, saved what most likely would have been a goal by knocking the net off of the moorings.
During an American Hockey League game against the Springfield Falcons Sunday (Nov. 2), the goalie was facing a two-on-none break. That’s when his quick thinking came into play–instead of defending the breakaway, Leggio knocked his net out of place.
Springfield was then rewarded a penalty shot for the action. Leggio stopped the penalty shot, but unfortunately the Tigers still lost the match 4-3.
