Five-time NBA champion Kobe Bryant loves to prove his critics wrong and is seemingly motivated by them–so this showed be a great upcoming season for him.
ESPN.com has ranked Bryant the 40th best player in the NBA for the 2014-15 season, falling from the 25th best last season–and Kobe disagrees. When Bill Oram from the Orange County Register asked if the ranking bothered him, Kobe said, “Nah. I’ve known for a long time that they’re a bunch of idiots.”

Due to injury, the 36-year-old only played six games last season. This year Kobe is entering his 19th season in the NBA.
Bryant also told the Orange County Register:
“Honestly, all jokes aside, it really doesn’t bother me too much. I’m going to do what I do regardless. And God willing I can stay healthy and if I wind up proving a lot of people wrong in the process that will just wind up being collateral damage.”
Even Sports Illustrated has Kobe ranked 24th this season and had him ranked 10th last year.
The Lakers start the regular season October 28 against the Houston Rockets.
