Free agent outfielder Nori Aoki was introduced as a San Francisco Giant Tuesday (Jan. 20).

The new left fielder signed a one-year $4.7 million contract.

When introduced, Aoki said, “This is a team that has a chance to play for a championship every year. So that’s why I chose to sign with this club.”

The 33-year-old from Japan played last season for the Kansas City Royals, hitting .285 with a home run, six triples, 22 doubles and 43 RBIs. He also had 17 stolen bases.
