Odell Beckham Jr.’s meteoric rise continued last night as he was named to the cover of Madden 16. Despite only playing 12 games in his career, Beckham is already bordering on superstar territory because of his freakish ability and fun-loving attitude. Beckham beat out finalist and fan favorite Rob Gronkowski. It’s impressive given the way Gronk has been absolutely everywhere since his recent Super Bowl win.

Giants’ fans might be worried given the so-called ‘Madden Curse’ that seems to befall players players on the cover after their previous (or rookie) season. Adrian Peterson, Brett Favre, and Peyton Hillis all saw their production tank the season following their cover appearance, and Marshall Faulk, Michael Vick, Ray Lewis, Donovan McNabb, and Shaun Alexander all suffered serious injuries after they were named to the cover.

However, Giants’ fan can take solace that the curse seems to skip receivers, as Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson put up career years after appearing on the cover.

If you want to refresh your memory of what ODB can do and why he probably doesn’t have to worry about any jinxes, watch below.
