The Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Oregon Ducks 42-20 in the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship, and what an outcome.

The win was such a huge deal in Ohio that there were 89 fires set, a goal post torn down at Ohio Stadium, and now Ashley Furniture owes customers $1.5 million in purchases. Arrests were made as well.

Thousands of students poured into the streets to celebrate the victory. Not only were trash bins, dumpsters, and even couches set on fire, but gun shots were reported. Few injuries took place.

Along with celebrating on campus, students broke into the football stadium and tore down a temporary goal post that was put up for high school games.

But the biggest news of all is if you made a purchase of $1,999 or more between December 17 and 30, 2014 at participating Ashley Furniture stores in Ohio because then you get your furniture for free!

Some very happy fans even took to Twitter after the game to thank Ashley.

And some fans made jokes.

Let’s hope none of those couches set on fire were purchased at Ashley during the promotion.
