Kosta Karageorge, 22, the Ohio State University football player who was reported missing last week for five days was found dead in a dumpster Sunday (Nov. 30).

The body had a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was found near Karageorge’s apartment in Columbus by a woman who was scavenging through containers. There was a gun found in close proximity to the body. Leaving officials to believe that Karageorge died from apparent suicide.

The 22-year-old was a defensive lineman for the Buckeyes, joining as a walk-on this season. Karageorge also wrestled for the university for three years.

According to his mother, Karageorge suffered from concussions.

It would seem that the concussions are responsible for Karageorge’s death. On the day that the student-athlete went missing, his mother received a text message saying, “I am sorry if I am an embarrassment but these concussions have my head all f***ed up.”

Hundreds of students gathered on campus Sunday night to remember Karageorge.
