Ray Rice is set to have his domestic violence charges dismissed today after he has completed his pretrial intervention program he was allowed into after his arrest in February

Rice was allowed entry into a PTI program after he was arrested for knocking out his now wife, Janay Rice, at an Atlantic City Casino. He was charged with third degree aggravated assault, but his participating in the program will have the charge dismissed.

While Ray Rice’s assault incident, and the fallout regarding the punishment from the league, garnered massive media attention, his questionable acceptance into a PTI program got very little coverage. ESPN reported that only 1 percent of all domestic violence cases are allowed entry into the program.

Ray Rice has expressed remorse numerous times about the incident but has still yet to sign with a new team. While the negative press is a deterrent for a team signing him, he is already 28 years old and was coming off the worst season of his career before he was released.
