First-year coach Jay Gruden of the 3-9 Washington Redskins will apparently be benching Robert Griffin III for the remainder of the season.
According to Jason Reid of The Washington Post, when it comes to RGIII, Gruden is “now done with him,” citing multiple people within the organization.
The former starting quarterback hasn’t won a game in over one calendar year. Griffin has had a rough year, and backup quarterback colt McCoy has shown promise.
RGIII, Heisman winner and the No. 2 overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, signed a 4-year contract in 2012.
With McCoy now the starter and Gruden being “done” with RGIII, will the 24-year-old be traded or ride the pine from here on out?
