OKC Thunder’s Russell Westbrook is awesome.

The point guard, and most of the other Thunder players, are very charitable. The NBA basketball team plays a large role in serving the Oklahoma City community.

Kerstin Gonzalez is a single mother with four-year-old Matthew and two-year-old Adam. Gonzalez was 14 when she got pregnant and goes to Sunbeam Family Services when she needs assistance.

The 19-year-old is currently trying to graduate from high school this year, while working a job before applying for colleges. Gonzalez does not have a working car, having to constantly borrow a family member’s.

After being called into Sunbeam Family Services, Gonzalez would get a surprise visit from Westbrook.

The Thunder point guard introduced himself, told Gonzalez that he had a surprise for her, and pulled a set of car keys out of his pocket. Gonzalez immediately broke into tears and Westbrook walked her to the Kia that he received after winning the NBA All-Star MVP award.

“It’s so touching and so amazing knowing that there are people out there willing to help the ones that are in need,” Gonzalez said after sitting in her new car.

If Westbrook doesn’t win the NBA MVP award this season, that’s ok. He’s OKC’s Most Valuable Person.
