Tiger Woods Withdraws From Farmers Insurance Open Due to Back Injury

On the 12th hole during the start of the Farmers Insurance Open in Torrey Pines, Tiger Woods got into a golf cart and was driven to his car. Woods has withdrawn from the tournament due to lower back pain.

Woods claims to have gone into the day feeling really good, however, due to two fog delays, his back tightened up.

After the sun burnt up the marine layer, the former No. 1 golfer in the world was hoping that his back would loosen up, but it did not.

On the third tee, Woods couldn’t even finish the hole. After a tee shot Woods walked up to the ball, and instead of putting out, he picked the ball up and waited for a ride to his car.

Usually, this back problem wouldn’t be so alarming. However, this is Woods’ second withdrawl since last April after he had back surgery. Since then he has also missed the cut three times and had his worst finish in a major at the British Open.
