NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp, 42, was arrested early Monday morning (Feb. 2) in downtown Phoenix on suspicion of soliciting a prostitute. He also faces two counts of assault.
Police were first notified of a noise complaint at a hotel. Upon arrival, they found Sapp with two escorts. One of the women then told police that she was assaulted during an argument over money. From there, investigators determined that there was an act of prostitution. Sapp admitted to police that he was paying money for sex, but denies any acts of assault.
The first prostitute was arrested for prostitution but was later released. The other had left before the police arrived but was found later that morning at another hotel.
Minor injuries were found on both the escorts.
Sapp has been arrested twice for allegations of domestic battery, once in 2010 and another in 2014.
