Told 4th grade class I’ve written abt Michael Jordan. Blank stares. Teacher said, “The man who makes Air Jordans.” They got it. #TimeFlies

Sports Illustrated writer Phil Taylor was invited to attend career day at an elementary school. When it was his turn to go in front of the fourth grade class, he wanted to give some of the more glamorous details, such as places he’s been and people he’s met.
However, one of the names did not click a bell to his students which he had hoped for: Michael Jordan. Apparently, His Airness does not have the same cache he used to as Taylor heard crickets. However, when he referenced Jordan by his shoes, Air Jordans, then they knew exactly who he was talking about.
This is a new generation indeed
